Profile
I am a Postgraduate Researcher in the CDT for AI for Medical Diagnosis and Care. Prior to joining the CDT in 2021, I completed an integrated Masters in Bioengineering at the University of Sheffield.
Research interests
My research aims to facilitate earlier diagnosis of upper GI cancers by applying artificial intelligence to routine blood tests. These cancers are commonly diagnosed at a late stage and are associated with poor outcomes for patients. The project aims to investigate whether routine health data contained within a patient's health record may contain signals that indicate developing cancer earlier than they might otherwise present in clinic. This will be achieved using retrospective patient records to build longitudinal models which utilise temporal information in patient data.
