Profile
Jack Breen is a Postgraduate Researcher focused on artificial intelligence for ovarian cancer diagnosis from digital pathology images. He is a member of the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence for Diagnosis and Care. Jack previously completed an integrated Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in mathematics at the University of Nottingham, with focuses on statistics and programming, including a dissertation on Markov Decision Processes, a form of reinforcement learning. Jack has also previously worked in data analytics.
Research interests
Jack’s research focuses on computer vision for ovarian cancer diagnosis, leveraging the increasingly common digital histopathology slides to increase efficiency and accuracy. His project seeks to develop approaches that are applicable to routine clinical care to improve the histopathology workflow and to improve patient experiences and outcomes.
