Profile
Siân has been a Postgraduate Research Student on the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Artificial Intelligence for Medical Diagnosis and Care at The University of Leeds since 2020. Prior to joining the CDT, Siân was a Mary Lister McCammon fellow (2019) at Imperial College London and graduated from the University of Leeds with an Integrated Masters in Mathematics (2020).
Research interests
Siân’s primary area of research is patient safety in medical AI, with a focus on safety concerns arising from bias and discrimination. Additionally, this research includes:
- The ethics of AI
- The safety of AI solutions
- Reinforcement Learning
