Profile
I am a Research Fellow in the Cement-Energy Nexus, primarily focusing on the recycling of concrete from construction and demolition waste to enable closed-loop recycling systems. In my current role, I am working on enhancing recycled concrete waste to produce supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) through chemical activation and thermal treatment, aiming to improve their reactivity and performance in cement applications. I also investigate advanced heating techniques, such as microwave processing, to improve process efficiency.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Hull, where I worked on bed agglomeration in fluidized bed reactors under continuous conditions during thermochemical processes like combustion and gasification. My expertise includes analyzing reaction pathways and conducting thermochemical reactions in both continuous and batch modes. During my doctoral work, I worked on pretreatment processes using novel methods, such as microwave and ultrasonic technologies, to improve reactions, reduce energy consumption, and increase overall efficiency .
