Profile

I am a PhD student at the University of Leeds interested in global flood risk. My research is focused on the evaluation and application of global flood risk datasets, with a specific emphasis on global flood models. I have an MEng degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from the University of Leeds. I also spent a year studying in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Research interests

My research is focused on evaluating global datasets for calculating flood risk. My work includes the assessment and validation of global flood models as well as understanding the implications of river representation within the models. I’m also interested in the other components of flood risk, exposure and vulnerability, and I’ve recently published a paper exploring the use of different global population datasets for calculating both global and national flood exposure. In my current research, I’m evaluating the use of global datasets for flood risk management at the national scale.
