- Thesis title: Performance of structures constructed using low-carbon fibre-reinforced concrete containing calcined clay and limestone (LC3)
- Supervisors: Dr. Han Fang, Professor John Forth
Profile
I am a PhD student in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds, under the supervision of Dr Han Fang and Professor John Forth. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2021 from the University of Bisha, Saudi Arabia. Prior to joining academia, I worked as a structural designer in industry. I was subsequently awarded a scholarship from King Khalid University, which enabled me to pursue an MSc in Structural Engineering at the University of Leeds, completed in 2024 with Distinction, and to continue with my PhD research.
My PhD research focuses on understanding the structural performance of concrete elements constructed using low-carbon concrete containing calcined clay and limestone (LC3) and reinforced with fibres. The research involves experimental characterisation of the behaviour of fibre-reinforced LC3 concrete subjected to realistic service and ultimate loading conditions. The outcomes of this research aim to support the safe, efficient, and sustainable adoption of low-carbon concrete in the construction industry.
Qualifications
- MSc in Structural Engineering MSc (University of Leeds)
