Profile
I am a first year PhD student in the School of Civil Engineering, working under Dr Mateusz Bocian and Prof Nikolaos Nikitas. My project will focus on gaining a deeper understanding of the interactions between crowds of pedestrians and vibration-prone structures such as footbridges. My previous background is in Mathematics, having completed my Masters degree in Mathematics in 2024.
Research interests
- Human-structure interaction
- Human gait biomechanics including the spontaneous synchronisation of footsteps and gait adaptations for balancing on moving structures
- Statistical modelling of stepping behaviour
- Crowd simulation and visually-guided locomotion
- Footbridge design and modelling
Qualifications
- MMath (Mathematics) from University of Oxford (2024)
