Collaboration

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We’re constantly looking to work alongside forward-thinking external partners with whom we can both work on impactful and innovative R&D projects to develop the technologies of the future, by applying and developing our research skills, technologies and methodologies.

We therefore seek industry partners to engage in collaborative research and development projects funded from schemes such as: UKRI, including Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Industrial Case Awards; Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund; Global Challenge Research Fund; Innovate UK Funding Competitions; Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs); and, the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.

Alternatively if you would like to benefit from our knowledge, facilities, expertise and technology, we can arrange a consultancy or a contract research programme with you. We have a range of specialist knowledge and applied expertise, which can be provided directly to your organisation as consultancy or contracted research. These are flexible and can span either short or long term projects.

Projects are scoped jointly by the individuals to be involved and can encompass access to our equipment and specialist software. Sometimes there are opportunities to link to student summer internships or projects – this will give you faster and more cost-effective delivery.
