Dr Mark D. Tarn

Profile

I am currently a researcher at the University of Leeds, working on microfluidic platforms for ice nucleation studies. I obtained an MChem Chemistry degree (2007) and a PhD in analytical chemistry (2011) from the University of Hull (UK), the latter involving the development of microfludic devices for magnetic particle separations and immunoassays. After a brief postdoc at Hull involving miniaturised purification systems for radiopharmaceutical production alongside a position as a microfabrication technician, I worked as a postdoc at KIST Europe (Germany) from 2011-2012 on the development of detection systems for capillary electrophoresis. Prior to my position at Leeds, I was a postdoc on a project involving miniaturised quality control testing in positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracer production from 2012-2016 at Hull.

I work jointly between the Molecular & Nanoscale Physics (MNP) Group in the School of Physics and Astronomy and the Institute for Climate and Atmospheric Science (ICAS) in the School of Earth and Environment.
