Profile
I graduated from The University of Kent (at Canterbury) with a BSc(Hons) in Physics with Space Science and Systems in 1996. Since then I have been a Science Technician for the last 23 years, including 13 years here at the University of Leeds. My main roles are setting up and maintaining the experiments used in both the First and Foundation Year Undergraduate Physics Teaching Labs and am also responsible for the administration tasks for the labs, as well as being the deputy Lab Convenor for the first year lab modules. I am also a Registered Scientist (RSci) as certified by the Science Council and the Institute of Physics. Outside of my work remit I am on the Technician Network comittee, the Technician Commitment commitee and the Women at Leeds comittee. I also run the University technician Twitter feed.
Responsibilities
- Providing Physics Technical support for the First and Foundation Year
- Undergraduate Physics Teaching Laboratories.
- Deputy Lab Convenor for the Physics Lab teaching modules.
