Research interests
I am an experimental physicist with research interests within soft matter physics and materials science. My research interests range from fundamental research, such as understanding the auxetic response in liquid crystal elastomers and understanding the formation of the ferroelectric nematic phase in liquid crystals, through to applications and devices such as imprinting diffractive optical elements on elastomeric materials.
I use a wide range of experimental techniques for my research, including optical microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy, calorimetry, X-ray scattering, and dielectric spectroscopy.
