Matthew Horner

Profile

Matthew is a PhD student in theoretical condensed matter and a member of the theoretical physics research group at the University of Leeds.

Research interests

Matthew’s research interests lie in topological phases of matter, with an emphasis on the high energy description of these phases. Matthew has been investigating the effective geometric/gravitational continuum limit description of lattice models such as Kitaev’s honeycomb model and graphene. Matthew has also investigated other gravitational techniques such as the AdS/CFT correspondence when applied to interacting systems of fermions.
