Profile
I am currently a PhD student in Theoretical Physics at the University of Leeds. This is a direct continuation from my undergraduate studies which I also completed at Leeds.
- MPhys dissertation - The Fluid Vacuum: On Tolman, Unruh, Hawking, and the Emergence of Dark Phenomena
Research interests
My principle research interest is Emergent Theories of Quantum Gravity. I have a particular interest in the role time plays within these frameworks. This work looks to build on the fundamental ideas of Jacobson and Verlinde to give a description of gravity which is consistent with quantum theories. This is an evolution of my Masters thesis which looked to model gravitational phenomena, such as dark matter and gravitational lensing, as effects which could be considered to arise from a ‘Fluid-like’ vacuum, My master’s work was done under Professor Ben Varcoe, who is also my PhD primary supervisor.
