Sam Jones

Profile

I am currently a PhD student in Theoretical Physics at the University of Leeds. This is a direct continuation from my undergraduate studies which I also completed at Leeds.

  • MPhys dissertation - The Fluid Vacuum: On Tolman, Unruh, Hawking, and the Emergence of Dark Phenomena

Research interests

My principle research interest is Theories of Quantum Gravity. Specifically through the lens of quantum information science. Currently I am investigating the behaviour of how finite lifetime black holes process information through building analogous quantum algorithms. The aim is to create an effective “black hole algorithm” which may be run on quantum hardware, allowing us to probe otherwise unreachable regions of extreme spacetime curvature.
