Dr Shami Alsallami

Profile

In 2008, I took my Bachelor Degree in Mathematics at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Umm Al-Qura University. In 2011, I attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, where I completed my Master degree in Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, graduating with honors in 2013. In 2014 I started my PhD at the University of Leeds in the Applied Mathematics Department of the Scool of Mathematics, under the main supervision of Prof Frank Nijhoff and co-supervision of Dr Jitse Niesen, where I completed my PhD degree in 2018.

Research interests

My main research interests are mostly in discrete integrable systems (integrable lattice equations, i.e., partial difference equations) and numerical analysis (geometric numerical integration). I am also interested in the connection of discrete integrable systems with wider areas of pure and applied mathematics.
