Fernando Mendez Mendez

Profile

I completed my undergraduate studies in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, where my bachelor’s thesis focused on contact structures on Lie algebras under the supervision of Prof. Gil Salgado, this worked earned the 2023 Sotero Prieto award. Afterward, I pursued my master's at Cinvestav in Mexico City—one of the premier mathematical research centers in Latin America—working on monomial ideals under Prof. Rafael Villarreal. Since October 2025, I have been at Leeds working under the direction of Dr. Francesca Tripaldi; my project focuses on the Lie algebra cohomology of nilpotent Lie groups.
