Profile
My research expertise is in numerical modelling, design and optimisation of nanoelectronic and optoelectronic devices. I have experience in computational engineering, semiconductor modelling and C++ software development. My background is in Nanoelectronics and Photonics with expertise in Applied and Numerical Mathematics developing algorithms for solving complex systems of coupled differential equations and algorithms for optimising big data via machine learning and parallel programming techniques.
My research focus is on laser dynamics, laser transport modelling, machine learning techniques for big data optimisation, hyperspectral imaging, neuromorphic sensor design and reservoir computing. .

- Electronic transport and optical properties calculations for semiconductor optoelectronic and optomechanical devices (quantum cascade lasers, quantum well photodetectors, interband lasers, acoustic sasers)
- Laser dynamics (Maxwell – Bloch modelling)
- Infrared and terahertz imaging and sensing, bio-medical imaging
- Optical feedback interferometry,
- Rreservoir computing
- Big-data optimisation (Bayesan, Genetic and Monte Carlo algorithms).

Student education
I teach undergradute modules covering machine learning, artificial intelligence and numerical and engineering mathematics. Additionally I usually supervise both undergraduate and taught postgraduate projects.
