Profile
I joined the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering in 2022, to support the University’s Curriculum Redefined strategy, and to offer a broad range of disciplinary expertise in teaching and research. Prior to joining the University of Leeds, I was based at the University of Johannesburg as an Associate Professor at the Institute for Intelligent Systems.
I obtained my BSc in Electrical Engineering, MSc in Engineering and his PhD from the University of Witwatersrand. I also obtained the graduate diploma in Data Science from the University of London.
In 2017, I completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (with distinction), and I am actively engaged in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) with a focus on curriculum development. I have an extensive record in teaching and learning, during which I have led, coordinated, and developed courses and programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
I was previously awarded the Freestanding and Scarce Skills scholarships and was rated as a Researcher by the National Research Foundation of South Africa. I am an Affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences and a Senior Member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE).
