Profile
I am a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Leeds. My work spans engineering education, communications, embedded systems, RF and microwave engineering, digital education, and transnational education.
My career has spanned academia, industry and business. I began my professional career at a space and satellite research organisation, where I worked at a satellite ground station receiving high-resolution Earth-observation satellite imagery. I subsequently moved into higher education and have taught Electrical and Electronic Engineering in different international contexts.
I hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Leicester, where my research investigated the feasibility of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) techniques for High Frequency (HF) radio communications. My technical interests include wireless communications, RF and microwave systems, signal processing, radio propagation, antennas and embedded systems.
Alongside my disciplinary expertise, my current scholarship focuses on engineering education, particularly within transnational and international learning environments. My interests include active learning, inclusive student participation, project-based learning, authentic assessment, digital education, and the responsible use of Generative AI in engineering education. I am a University of Leeds LITE Fellow, exploring differentiated active learning and inclusive pathways to student participation.
