Chemistry colleagues celebrated for long service
Four staff members of the School of Chemistry have received long service awards at a special event marking winter graduation week.
Simon Barrett, David Fogarty and Martin Huscroft have each completed 40 years of service to the School, while Mohammed Asaf has completed 25 years of service. The awards acknowledge their continuous long service to reach these important milestones.
The award winners received certificates from the Vice-Chancellor during one of the graduation week congregations. The ceremony was followed by a celebratory lunch at University House attended by staff members from across the University who were also receiving such recognition.
Professor Steve Marsden, Head of School, said: “This is a really remarkable set of achievements – all four are outstanding colleagues and citizens of the School. They have helped countless thousands of undergraduate students and researchers to achieve their goals for a combined 165 years and counting! We’re very proud of all of them.”
