Double success for inorganic chemist

Inorganic students and staff from the School of Chemistry attended the RSC Northern Regional Dalton Meeting on 30th June 2016, which was held in Hull.

The meeting brings together researchers from the Universities of Leeds, York, Manchester, Sheffield, Huddersfield, Hull and Lancaster, and gives PhD students and Post-Docs the opportunity to showcase their work.

Talks were given by Laura Ghandhi and Jordan Holmes, and several students presented posters. Emma Poole, who works with Dejian Zhou, won a prize for her poster entitled ‘Polyvalent Glycan-Quantum Dot Probes for Structure Mechanisms of HIV/Ebola Viral Receptors DC-SIGN/R-Carbohydrate Interactions’, and Jordan Holmes, who works with Charlotte Willans, won a prize for his talk entitled ‘Carborane-Substituted N-Heterocyclic Carbenes’.
