Professor Andrew Bayly

Professor Andrew Bayly

Profile

Professor Andrew Bayly is a Chemical Engineer who graduated from the University of Cambridge obtaining a PhD in the fluid dynamics of bubbles. After leaving Cambridge he joined the R&D department at Procter and Gamble where he design and developed processes for manufacturing deterent powders and other consumer goods. In 2013 he returned to academia at the University of Leeds and successfuly established an active group within the Institute of Particle Science and Engineering.

Research interests

Professor Bayly's research covers a wide range of engineering science and process technology, which tends to be based on the formation and behaviour of particles and droplets. He is interested in understanding these systems at multiple scales so that products and processes can be engineered and designed more efficiently. The complexity of many of these systems leads to the development and application of novel experimental and modelling approaches.
