Dr Sobhan Mortazavi-Derazkola

Profile

I am currently working as a Newton International Fellow at the University of Leeds with Professor Dejian Zhou and Professor Alex O'Neill. Before coming here, I was an Assistant Professor at the Medical Toxicology and Drug Abuse Research Center (MTDRC) at Birjand University of Medical Sciences, Birjand, Iran. In 2017, I successfully completed my PhD in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, with a thesis focused on the synthesis of rare earth oxide nanostructures and their biological and environmental properties under the supervision of Professor Masoud Salavati-Niasari. Following this, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow, studying the biological properties of nanoparticles under the mentorship of Professor Mohammad Ali Ebrahimzadeh. I was honored to receive a Newton International Fellowship. This fellowship enables me to delve into the study of atomically precise, multi-ligated Au/Ag nanoclusters, with a focus on combating antibiotic resistance.
