Dr Robert Laverick

Profile

As part of my undergraduate degree, I undertook a 6-month placement (2013) at AkzoNobel in Deventer, Holland carrying out commerical research in organometallic chemistry.

I obtained my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Kitchen at the University of Southampton in the field of Spin Crossover (SCO) chemistry and carried out an array of teaching activities as part of my postgraduate studies.

After completing my PhD, I moved to the University of Birmingham as a Teaching Fellow in Inorganic Chemistry. Whilst there, I took on senior roles in Admissions and as Director of Year 4 enabling me to be recognised as a Senior Fellow by Advance HE (SFHEA).

I moved to Leeds in 2022 as a Teaching Fellow in Inorganic and Physical Chemistry and have taken over as lead for the School’s Outreach programme.
