Research interests
Research interests are in two major themes.
Aviation research centres round fuel efficiency and CO2 reductions utilising flight management pararmeters such as the Cost Index (in conjunction with Cathay Pacific) and novel approaches to reducing fuel use during taxiing (in conjunction with easyJet). Safety in General Aviation especially related to single pilot workload is also an interest.
Energy research is focused on the combinations of hybrid PV/T/PCM systems both from a theotetical and practical experimentation aspect.
Darron Dixon-Hardy currently supervises 6 research students.
