Profile
I earned my BSc in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2008, followed by an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2010. I obtained my PhD in Heterogeneous Catalysis from Cardiff University in 2015. After completing postdoctoral research at Aston University, I began my independent academic career in 2020 at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, as well as the Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI), both at Aston University. I joined the School of Chemical & Process Engineering at the University of Leeds in November 2024.
Research interests
My research primarily focuses on developing heterogeneous catalysts for sustainable chemical processes, with an emphasis on transforming biomass and plastic wastes and CO2 into valuable chemicals and fuels. I am also interested in the rational design and development of nanoparticulate and nanoporous catalytic materials, and understanding structure-activity relationships in catalytic processes.
