Profile
She completed her bachelor’s degree at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2009. Right after, she joined one of the major chemical manufacturing companies in Malaysia as part of their water division, providing technical support for water and wastewater chemical treatment processes. In 2012, she pursued her PhD related to pharmaceutical solid forms mechanical properties prediction at the University of Leeds and completed it in 2016. Once finished, she returned to Malaysia to teach at one of the government-linked universities and was assigned to the food engineering department. She teaches core engineering modules and is involved in student development and lifestyle. She also acts as an advisor and supervisor for students and research projects. She has an experience to supervise more that 30 undergadduate students final year dissertation projects. She has served good years as head of the section leading team through programme accreditation audit, development of a new bachelor programme, managing staff and the overall section operations.
Her disciplinary research interest mainly on molecular modelling analysis of pharmaceutical drugs and food compounds. Currently, she is involve in pedagogical and chemical engineering education research focussing on learner agency, assessment and inclusivity. She has presented her work locally and internationally and has previously won the Young Scientist Award 2017 by International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) which granted her a bursary to present her work in Hyderabad, India. She has also been award Young Scientist Poster Award 2015 at the International Conference on the Chemistry and Organic Solid State (ICCOSS) in Japan.
She managed to secure a few research funding internally and externally throughout her teaching years with projects related to computational modelling and food process engineering. She have been supervising postgraduate students in Malaysia and the UK.
