Research interests
His current research interests include active soft materials for sensing and actuation, and morphable soft-bodied robotics applied to healthcare and medical technologies. His position is a strategic investment by University of Leeds to explore capabilities of soft systems in engineering and medicine, and will help exploit facilities such as EPSRC robotics centre for Soft System fabrication. He has successfully developed a number of implantable devices with his current research developing a miniaturised robotic platform for hydro-colonoscopy.
