Future manufacturing processes
The vision of the Future Manufacturing Processes research group is to enable novel and transformative capabilities in products and services across a wide range of applications.
This is conducted through a portfolio of manufacturing process research that is based around the exploration and development of novel apparatus and instrumentation for computer-controlled fabrication and production.
The strategy to deliver this is centred in our body of work in Hybrid Manufacturing Processes. This concerns digitally-driven template-less manufacturing processes which are based on integrated cross-technology platforms and/or multi-system cells.
We have been recognised, by an extensive process of independent peer review, to be World-leading in this field.
