Why did you decide to study a masters at the University of Leeds?

I am studying in University of Leeds because it is one of the best university in UK and the school of Electronic and Electrical Engineering possesses fantastic research rating. After finishing my bachelor’s course in Telecommunication Engineering in my homeland, I preferred to learn more advanced technologies in my major, so I am one of the master student in Digital Communications Networks.

What has been the best aspect of studying on your course and at the University so far and why?

The best aspect of studying on my course is the sufficient resource for supporting learning. There are adequate facilities for students to participate the experiments in every module. Moreover, the libraries and 24-h clusters give strong backing for independent study. After the helpful lectures, I usually spend a lot of time in the clusters.

Tell us about some of the exciting projects you have completed.

One of exciting project I experienced is the mini project of 5461. It is really a challenging group work. We use the software to complete a simulation of evaluating performance of DRRM switching algorithm. We work hard on the programming of that algorithm to get the correct simulation.

What does Leeds as a city have to offer students?

Leeds is a lovely city with perfect climate and location. It is an excellent experience to live and study in Leeds. It is very easy to find a supermarket, student can buy daily necessities conveniently. Leeds is also a diversified city, there is a variety restaurants and supermarkets from Middle Eastern, African and Asian.

What are your ambitions for the future?

After finishing my MSc course, I am going to apply a PhD position to start my future study and learning.

What experiences at Leeds do you think will help you in your future career?

I really enjoyed my year in Leeds. The professional knowledge and skill will be a solid foundation for my future career. The group projects not only enhance my communication skill but also provide opportunities to accumulate experience which is useful in practical work. Meanwhile, the social activities can cultivate my international viewpoints.

What would you say to students coming to do the same course?

Study in University of Leeds is a faunistic experience. You can broaden your horizons, accumulate knowledge, learn professional skills and make friends with people from all over the world. These will be help for your future career. In addition, it is important to manage your time properly. Learning how to manage time on your study and social life is helpful for your life in Leeds.
