What have you been doing since finishing your studies? What are you doing in terms of your career?

I have started my career as a graduate project manager with Signalling Solutions Limited where I undertook the Balfour Beatty graduate scheme. I have then moved to Siemens Rail as a project Engineer

What company are you currently working for, what is your role and what does it involve?

As a Project Engineer I undertake the Project Engineering Manager role on North Wales Coast, which is a Modular Signalling project and manage the engineering work package. In addition I support the Project Manager and the engineering management team to monitor the progress of works and ensure that the development, design construction, testing and financial targets are met and effect remedial action where required

What experiences at Leeds do you think have particularly helped with your career or will help with your future career?

The ability to self-research and problem solving of highly complex technical and safety critical issues across high-scale multidisciplinary projects.

Looking back, why did you choose to study your particular course and why did you choose the University of Leeds?

For its strong reputation and values. the Engineering degree from the University of Leeds has opened a fantastic career for me.

What were the best aspects of your academic life at University and why? Any highlights?

The graduation ceremony of the Masters degree and the fact that I got a job before the ceremony.

What advice would you give to students thinking about choosing the same area of study at Leeds or thinking about the same career?

Astonishing opportunities from the University of Leeds will arise in the very near future. Just go for it and the career will follow
