An enthusiastic professional with a wealth of experience within a range of sectors including; Education, FMCG (Marks and Spencer, Thorntons plc, Nestle UK, Dr. Oetker), SMEs and Charities. As the Employability Enhancement Officer I am responsible for:

  • Strategic development of the School’s industrial placement and international portfolio
  • Managing and leading the undergraduate industrial placement scheme
  • Representing the School to prospective employers
  • Promoting and advertising and new placement opportunities
  • Organising successful student placements by monitoring suitability of placements and student performance
  • Monitoring the on-going progress of placement students, allocating academic supervisors, coordinating site visits, and co-assessing their work relating to the scheme
  • Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with key graduate employers to create future opportunities
  • Mentoring students in writing applications, CVs and giving specific advice on the requirements for undertaking an industrial placement
  • Supporting placement students by being their first point of contact, offering administrative and pastoral support throughout their year in industry
  • Teaching and facilitating Food Science and Nutrition specific employability lectures and workshops
  • Creating and developing global opportunities to enrich student experience and enhance global opportunities through international mobility options
  • Generating and developing new opportunities to enhance student employability e.g. field trips, industry visits and course related volunteering
