I held several research and development posts for around 18 years in the pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals industries. For the past 13 years, I have worked in the Faculties of Engineering, MaPS and EPS at Leeds in a variety of roles, particularly in supporting applications to UKRI (EPSRC, STFC, BBSRC, MRC, NERC and Innovate UK), Leverhulme and EU Framework & Horizon 2020. Alongside proposal development, I also held management responsibilities in several large multi-partner projects, including leading a work package on scientific content in a Horizon 2020 project; deputising for work package and theme leaders on a Framework 7 project; managing two Marie Curie Training Networks and coordinating Leeds’ activities in other projects.

My role is to support academics within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS), primarily with the Schools of Chemistry Mathematics and Physics & Astronomy and also Food Science & Nutrition, now located in The Faculty of Environment. I am particularly involved in developing high value, high quality proposals which include external partners, from academia, industry, govermnent and NGOs, addressing a wide range of funding schemes such as UKRI, Horizon 2020 and charities and am Research & Innovation Service main contact for STFC and Royal Society applications.
