I undertake PhD research focussed on liquid crystal templating under the supervision of Dr. Mamatha Nagaraj. I graduated with an undergraduate master’s degree in Chemistry (MChem) at the University of Leicester in 2016, during which time I spend one year at the University of Stuttgart synthesising ionic liquid crystals as part of Professor Sabine Laschat's group.
My area of research elegantly blends apects of materials science, physics and chemistry. My general topics of interest are:
- Templating liquid crystal phases
- Novel liquid crystals and the phases they form
- Polymers and polymerisation
- Novel material applications
- Organic synthesis
- MChem Chemistry
