Nina Trbojevic

I am a PhD student currently undertaking experimental research as part of the Soft Matter Physics group at the University of Leeds. My research is in the area of liquid crystal templating, under the supervision of Dr. Mamatha Nagaraj (Physics) and Prof. Daniel Read (Applied Maths). I graduated with a MChem Chemistry degree from the University of Leicester in 2016. During my undergraduate, I spent a year at Prof. Sabine Laschat's group at the University of Stuttgart synthesising ionic liquid crystals.

Research interests

  • Liquid crystal templating
  • Organic synthesis
  • Materials science
  • Novel applications of LCs
  • Twist-bend nematic (NTB) phase
