- Thesis title: Novel phase behaviour in bent-core liquid crystal materials and mixtures
Profile
I graduated from the University of Manchester in 2015 with a 1st Class Honours degree in Physics. I am now currently working as a postgraduate research student in the Soft Matter group in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Leeds, under the supervision of Prof. Helen Gleeson.
Research interests
I am currently working in the field of liquid crystals. More specifically I am interested in novel phase behaviour in bent-core liquid crystal systems. My research involves a number of experimental techniques which are carried out to observe and characterise these systems; these include using polarizing optical microscopy, Fréedericksz transition dielectric measurements, and electro-optic measurements.
Qualifications
- MPhys in Physics
