Why did you choose the University of Leeds?

Leeds is such a great city, I knew I wanted to come here.

It was the Open Day that ultimately made my decision for me. It was such a well organised day and I loved seeing the campus, meeting students and staff and getting a feel for university life at Leeds.

Why did you choose to study Natural Sciences?

I studied maths, biology and chemistry at A-Level and I really didn't know which subject out of these I liked the best. You could study all of these in your first year on the course, so it seemed the best course for me to do.

What do you like most about your course?

I like how flexible it is. I can study what I want to and its allowed me to discover what I want to major in over the years.

Can you describe what student life at Leeds is like?

Typically, I have 3 hours of lectures in the morning and 3 hours of lab sessions in the afternoon. On an evening, I either play sport, socialise or take part in another activity usually with one of the societies I'm in.

What were you most worried about before arriving at university?

I was worried about making friends, but I got so involved in everything that was going on I needn't have worried. I was also worried about money - coming to university has definitely made me aware of budgeting.

What do you like most about being a student?

There are so many opportunities available to you as a student. I've joined lots of societies and there is something to suit everyones interest.

What do you plan to do at the end of your course?

I'm planning to either do a gap year or undertake a PhD in chemistry.

What do you do outside of your studies?

I'm involved in loads of societies and I play a lot of sport. I've recently just joined the cheerleading society, which I never would have imagined before I came to uni!

I'm also an Undergraduate Research Leadership Scholar, which means I'm a student ambassador.
