Amy Contreras

I completed my integrated BSc and MChem degree in Chemistry with Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Sheffield. During this, I took part in a summer research placement in the area of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. This led me to apply to the CDT (integrated MSc and PhD) in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine here at the University of Leeds.

Research interests

My research is focussed on the use of biomaterials for regenerative applications with additional antimicrobial functionality. This area of research allows me to explore my interdisciplinary interests across several departments at the University.
