Professor Nicholas Young

Profile

Since 1968 I have worked in the mathematics departments at Glasgow, Lancaster, Newcastle and Leeds Universities.

I have written a book (An Introduction to Hilbert Space, CUP, 1988) and about a hundred research articles in analysis.

A new book, Operator Analysis: Hilbert space methods in complex analysis, written jointly with J. Agler and J. E. McCarthy, is due to be published imminently by CUP.

Research interests

I work on problems in operator theory, analytic functions and complex geometry.
