I’m a student from Chongqing, a beautiful inland city in the southwest of China. I have always been very enthusiastic about computer science and electronic technology. When I was a child, my father was an electronic and electrical engineer and I often played with electronic boards or some other electronic gadgets.

After doing my BSc (Eng) in telecommunication information engineering in China, I really wanted to study aboard. I really enjoyed signal processing and network architecture and that is the reason I chose to study MSc Digital Communications Networks.
I chose Leeds because of its fantastic location in the middle of the UK and also because of its fantastic research rating, number 1 in the UK for Electronic and Electrical Engineering!

My favourite part of the course is the lab sessions. They give me a lot of hands-on experience and will help me in my future career or deeper research studies. My main project is about indoor localization and navigation. The project is to implement a system which can guide people indoors with a smart device (such as a mobile phone) with the signal of Wi-Fi.

After I finish my MSc studies, I’m planning to find a job at first to earn more industry experience and then continue with PhD study.
Outside of my studies, I’m in the photography society and archery society at Leeds and also go to gym every day. I believe that a good brain belongs to a good body! I love traveling and taking photographs and have visited much of the UK during my stay!
