Why did you decide to study at the University of Leeds?

I have chosen the University of Leeds because I wanted more than a simple Computer Science, I wanted the best course on graphics. Researching on various sites about the course, visiting the university, meeting with my future tutor and seeing what the university has to offer convinced me completely.

What has been the best aspect of studying on your course and at the University and why?

I like the atmosphere at lectures, the networking we can create and what we learn. The curriculum is really well structured. You learn what you need, gradually and the modules are interconnected. The tutors and the lectures are always eager to help you.

Tell us about some of the exciting projects you have completed so far?

My motivation for choosing graphics was a game I developed as part of a team during high school. It is a VR game and you travel through the human body and understand what is happening from inside. Also, the last project for a programming module for the last semester was a mini-game simulating the universe in a console and even though it was not that complex, it was fun to create a game only using the console.

What does Leeds as a city have to offer students?

I think that Leeds is a city that suits everybody: from parks and museums to clubs and pubs, you will certainly find a place for you.

What are your ambitions for the future?

I would like to get a PhD after I finish my master degree. I also want to get a placement year and work in the industry, creating games or engines.

What experiences at Leeds do you think will help you in your future career?

I believe that the strong connection the university has with the industry, especially for my course, is a great advantage for my future career. Also, I think that the possibility of meeting lots of new people through various events such as programming nights or talks will have a good impact on my future career.

What would you say to students coming to do the same course?

Do not be afraid to try something new. The graphics branch is a fun and exciting field of computer graphics and it is one of the visual parts, where you can 'see' your code working.
