Dr Saleh Meibodi
Saleh received his B.Sc. degree and M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yazd University and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM), Iran, respectively. Having completed his master's, he began working as a research assistant in Sun & Air Research Institute (SARI), Iran, focusing on research in the field of renewable energies. His work was primarily to evaluate and adopt different approaches to improve the performance of solar heating systems. It also involved attending both academic and industrial meetings, going to the project site, and inspecting the installation of solar collectors. During this time, he was honoured to become a senior member of the Iranian Organization for Engineering Order of Building.
In 2016, Saleh was awarded a Doctoral Academy Scholarship for his research on thermal energy networks from the University of Leeds. He worked on modelling dynamic thermal responses of pipelines in thermal energy network and completed his PhD in 2020. During this period, he has communicated his research to expert and non-expert audiences through presenting in four national and international conferences, publishing in leading journals, and involving in multidisciplinary meetings. He received one of the best student research paper awards at the 16th IBPSA Conference, Italy, in 2019.
In December 2020, he undertook a research fellowship at the University of Leeds focusing on geothermal district heating systems. He is currently working on the Integrated Infrastructure for Sustainable Thermal Energy Provisions (IN-STEP) project.
Saleh's research interests are in the field of Building Engineering Physics and Renewable Energy Systems. These interests can be summarised as:
- Thermal Energy Networks and Storages
- Energy Geostructres
- Energy and Sustainable Buildings
- Solar Energy Systems
- Modelling Heat Transfer Problems and Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Ph.D. Civil Engineering - University of Leeds, UK (2020)
- M. Sc. Energy Conversion - Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran (2015)
- B. Sc. Mechanical Engineering - Yazd University (2011)
