Wengui Huang


Huang is currently a research fellow supporting Achilles research project. He holds a BEng in geological engineering from Lanzhou University (China), and PhD in geotechnical engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). After completed his PhD study, he worked for Arup as a geotecnical and tunnel engineer for two and half years. He worked on several underground infrastructure projects and involved in bored tunnel design, building impact assessment, deep excavation analysis and design of earth retaining structure. During this period, he also worked as an adjunct lecturer for University of Newcastle (Singapore) and taught several courses. In the long-term, Huang would like to pursue a career in academia.


Research interests

I am interested in applying analytical and numerical methods to solve geotechnical problems.
