- Thesis title: Post-production quality assurance of solid recovered fuel (SRF) with uncertainty quantification: Novel toolkit for optimal sample preparation and thermogravimetric composition identification
- Supervisor: Dr Costas Velis, Professor Paul Williams
Profile
Loula is a Doctoral Researcher in the School of Civil Engineering with a focus on Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF). Her thesis involves modelling for composition identification of SRF, thermal behaviour of waste-derived materials, and optimisation of sample preparation for chemical analysis of solid waste with an aim to develop post-production quality assurance measures for SRF application. Loula obtained a full-time University Research Scholarship to elaborate her Ph.D., in addition to publishing a number of articles on scientific journals. Loula is a member of ISWA Young Professionals Group and had a volunteer role in Resource Recovery from Waste Annual Conferences.
Loula is an Environmental Engineer specializing in solid waste management. Loula has worked as scientific staff at the Laboratory of Solid and Hazardous Waste Management at the Democritus University of Thrace. Her research experience includes chemical analysis of solid waste, waste sampling methods, advanced statistical analysis for solid waste characterisation, anaerobic digestion, composting analysis, and other laboratory skills.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Waste and Water Resources Management and Technology
