Why did you decide to study a masters at the University of Leeds?

I would say the number one reason was my father, as he is the one who encouraged me to go forward and apply for Masters at University of Leeds. After I attended the Global Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX) in Muscat to see the international universities outside Oman, I noticed that the University of Leeds has a higher ranking compared to the other universities in the UK.

What has been the best aspect of studying on your course and at the University so far and why?

The best aspect so far would be the boost in myself confidence and independence, as one of my lecturers always said to us “ We teach you to become leaders, not followers”

Tell us about some of the exciting projects you have completed.

All of my projects were mostly theoretical and academic, I would say the most exciting part of the projects were working with group members on real projects and try to fix an existing problem. It allowed me to comprehend other individual's backgrounds, thoughts and embrace their other cultures.

What does Leeds as a city have to offer students?

Leeds as a city that can provide you with an adventure of experiencing a new lifestyle as well as the breathtaking and peacefulness environment.

What are your ambitions for the future?

To acquire a high position and to be recognised as a successful woman in my country region, pay back to my country for all the amazing things it has and keeps on giving me.

What experiences at Leeds do you think will help you in your future career?

To start with I would say the studying abroad experience; it made me a better person and opened my eyes widely to life changing experiences, working under pressuring and bring out the best of me all the times and never say I can’t .

What would you say to students coming to do the same course?

If you are looking for a strong university to help prepare for your career life, then the University of Leeds is your destination. I can’t stress enough, be prepared to “STUDY HARD” because the University of Leeds is not a place for followers; it’s for leaders.Time management is a key skill so learn to manage your time and finally enjoy life at Leeds.
