- Thesis title: Characterisation of nanoparticles in complex environments
Profile
In 2016 I began studying for a PhD in materials characterisation.
Before this, I completed a BSc in Chemistry at the University of Bristol, after which I spent two years working in the education sector, before completing an MSc in Forensic Toxicology at the University of Glasgow.
Research interests
My PhD focuses on characterising nanoparticles dispersed in compex environments, specifically biological fluids commonly used in nanomedical and nanotoxicological studies. My research looks at developing in situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques to carry out accurate native state characterisation of nanoparticle dispersions, with the main focus being to develop cryogenic-analytical-scanning TEM (STEM).
