Nancy Ingham

I am a mature postgraduate researcher, on the Complex Particulate Products and Processes (cP3) CDT integrated MSc and PhD programme.

I gained a BSc in Chemistry with French from UMIST and EHICS (Strasbourg) and then worked as a Scientific Officer for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food at Westminster.  I then went on to work as a research chemist for Courtaulds, International Paints, in the Powder Coatins division.  From there I moved to Regulatory Affairs at Courtaulds, providing regulatory support for our Marine, Yacht and Protective Coatings businesses, at a time of increased legislation worldwide and harmonisation of legislation across the EU.

After a career break to start a family, I worked in science education, teaching in schools and collegees in the North of England for 8 years and acting as an A level examiner for different exam boards.

Research interests

I have just started my PhD research project, titled ‘Characterization of surface modified inorganic particles & the influence on performance in liquid formulations’, working as part of Associate Professor David Harbottle’s research group
