- Thesis title: Synthesis of Supported CaO-Based Sorbents and their evaluation as CO2 acceptors during Sorption-Enhanced Steam Reforming Process
I was born in the state of Chiapas in Mexico, My bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering was successfully completed in the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo in the state of Michoacan, Mexico. During this stage, several awards were obtained related to academic merit. After that, I finished my Master degree on Science and Engineering of Materials in the Institute of Material Science belonging to the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, in Mexico City.
On the other hand, different research lineas have been part of my career, between them can be mentioned electrochemistry (PEM fuel cells), catalysis (development of novel catalysts for application on catalytic converters using carbon nanotubes as support of transition metals). Moreover, Carbon Capture and Storage can be considered as my specialism. During the last years, I have been working in the design and synthesis of different kind of sorbents for its application in a wide window of temperatures, among these CO2 sorbents can be mentioned CaO and Hydrotalcites.
My research profile is focused in develop novel sorbents materials for its application in in-situ Carbon Capture during the Sorption-Enhanced Steam Methane Reforming Process. In order to improve the efficiency (Capture Capacity) of the Metal Oxide-based sorbents , several chemical, mechanical, thermal and physical parameters are considered along its synthesis. In addition, the evaluation of kinetic of sorption/desorption of CO2 in the reforming and capture reactions can be considered as an imperative component of my research work.
