Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) partnership

Our partnership with Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) two pathways for study opportunites at both institutions.

The ‘2+2’ undergraduate programme enables students who have successfully completed the first two years (2) of their WUT Bachelors programme to join the second year of the Leeds degrees listed below. Students have the option of graduating with a BEng after successfully completing two years at Leeds (+2), or with an MEng, BEng Integrated Masters after successfully completing three years at Leeds (+3).

* Students enrolling on the Integrated Masters (MEng, BEng) programme retain the flexibility to graduate with a BEng only, on successful completion of the two year study period at Leeds. Please also note that there are academic requirements for progression from BEng to the MEng.

The ‘1+1+1’ postgraduate programme enables students who have successfully completed the first year (1) of their WUT Masters programme to join a Leeds MSc (Eng) degree (+1), before returning to WUT to complete their final year (+1). Students successfully completing the three year study period graduate with a Masters degree from WUT and a Masters degree from Leeds.

Entry requirements

2+2: for admission to Leeds you’ll need to have successfully completed Years 1 and 2 of WUT's four-year Bachelor programmes with a minimum overall GPA of 75%. You will also need to obtain the programme entry requirements for English Language i.e. IELTS academic score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in all components) or equivalent.
1+1+1: for admission to Leeds you’ll need to have successfully completed Year 1 of WUT's three-year Masters programme with a minimum overall GPA of 70%. You will also need to obtain the programme entry requirements for English Language i.e. IELTS academic score of 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in all components) or equivalent.

Improve your English

If you do not meet the English language requirements for either programme you may be able to study our pre-sessional English course, to help improve your English language level. The pre-sessional course is designed with a progression route to your degree programme and you’ll learn academic English in the context of your subject area. Scholarships

Once you are enrolled on the Leeds programme you’ll receive a scholarship towards the international tuition fee. This is provided as a partial fee waiver for each year of the programme at Leeds, subject to making satisfactory academic progress.
